Hemorrhoids Information

Hemorrhoid problems affect more than 50% of the population with people often suffering from recurrent bleeding, itching, irritation, and mild incontinence. Treatments such as keeping stools soft with a high fiber diet, avoiding excessive straining while defecating, and using various ointments and suppositories can sometimes be effective. However, in many people the symptoms persist, and the most common treatment recommended is hemorrhoid banding.

We use the CRH O’Regan Banding SystemTM because it is a significant improvement over previous banding methods. It allows us to treat patients with all grades of hemorrhoids safely, painlessly and effectively in our office without surgery. It typically takes less than 60 seconds to perform the procedure, and most of our patients go back to work the same or next day. Typically, a series of three banding sessions spaced about two weeks apart are required to completely treat all of the hemorrhoids.
