Gateway Endoscopy Center

Gateway Endoscopy Center (GEC) is a physician-run state of the art endoscopy center conveniently located  in the Walker Medical Building on North Forty Drive in Town and Country.  The GEC was established to fulfill a simple goal for our patients—to provide quality gastrointestinal endoscopy in a comfortable, safe, and convenient environment.

To that end Gateway Endoscopy Center has numerous advantages over standard endoscopy units.  Each endoscopy suite at Gateway Endoscopy Center utilizes state of the art, high definition endoscopy enhanced with high definition video monitors.  Cutting edge technology such as narrow band imaging is also available at the center.

At the GEC patient safety is of utmost importance, therefore anesthesia services are directed by a board certified anesthesiologist with critical care training and over 15 years of experience in cardiac and general anesthesia.  Likewise, each endoscopy suite is staffed by a registered nurse.  In fact, from prep to recovery your care will be directed by registered nurses with an average of 7 years of endoscopy experience.

At Gateway Gastroenterology and Gateway Endoscopy Center we believe that training makes a difference.  Our physicians have trained at some of the finest medical centers such as Johns Hopkins, Stanford, and Washington University.  Each year our group of  8 physicians perform nearly 12,000 endoscopic procedures and we are proud that our quarterly reviews consistently exceed national standards for quality in endoscopy.  The Gateway Endoscopy Center was recently recognized by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) for “promoting quality in endoscopy.”  The center is also JCHO accredited.

Not only do we at GEC provide quality endoscopy services in a safe and comfortable environment, but we have also teamed up with a national leader in pathology services to ensure that our patient’s biopsy specimens are processed and read by some of the nation’s top gastrointestinal pathologists.
