Dr. Fred Williams earned his M.D. at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He then completed his internal medicine residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. He is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology and has been practicing gastroenterology since 1991. He is a member of numerous professional societies including the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterology Association, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease. He strongly believes that many GI diseases can be markedly improved through proper nutrition and frequently incorporates dietary counseling into his practice. He is married, has two children and is an avid cyclist who has also run several marathons.
